Summary

Hell Energy, a global ready-to-drink energy and coffee brand, was looking at scaling its UK DTC business through Amazon. Having previously managed their store and Amazon ads internally, we were brought in to supercharge the current activity and bring Hell Energy to a broader UK audience.

By fully managing all Amazon operations, from stock management to ads, we've been able to scale considerably whilst reducing costs and operational chokepoints. This proved to be an immediate impact, with 12 of their all-time biggest sales weeks following in the first 16 weeks of us taking over. Key to achieving this has been a complete overhaul of the ads strategy to reduce wasted spend whilst keenly focusing on keeping their core product range in stock at all times.

The Brief

Hell Energy, a globally recognized energy drink brand, sought to strengthen its online presence and optimize its performance on Amazon. Known for its bold branding and high-energy ethos, Hell Energy aimed to expand its reach in the competitive e-commerce space, leveraging Amazon’s platform to grow sales and engage with its target audience more effectively.


We were brought on board to manage Hell Energy’s Amazon Ads strategy and store management. The key objectives included driving traffic to their Amazon store, increasing conversion rates, and enhancing overall brand visibility on the platform. This required a comprehensive approach, combining data-driven advertising campaigns, meticulous store optimization, and consistent performance monitoring to ensure alignment with their business goals.

How did we help?

We began with a full Amazon Ads account audit to identify key opportunities and set benchmarks for success. This detailed analysis highlighted areas where inefficient spending could be minimized and provided a foundation for measurable growth. Based on the findings, we restructured the account to reduce wasted spend by eliminating underperforming keyword targeting and breaking out campaigns into separate target groups. This approach allowed for greater control over targeting and more efficient distribution of the ad spend.

Once the new structure was in place, we launched optimized campaigns designed to drive measurable results. To support ongoing sales, we also developed a robust stock control system to predict and plan stock levels effectively, ensuring Hell Energy maintained consistent availability across all products. Additionally, we planned and executed a strategic offer calendar to capitalize on peak selling periods throughout the year, maximizing visibility and sales during high-demand times.

This comprehensive approach enabled us to deliver impactful results and create a sustainable, scalable foundation for Hell Energy’s growth on Amazon.

Amazon Ads

Our work with Hell Energy’s Amazon Ads began with a complete audit of their previous activity. This in-depth analysis uncovered inefficiencies, identified underperforming areas, and provided the insights needed to build a stronger foundation.

We restructured the account in line with Amazon Ads best practices, creating a refined targeting strategy. Campaigns were segmented into three distinct groups: competitor, phrase, and exact targeting. Competitor targeting focused on capturing market share, while phrase and exact targeting honed in on Hell Energy’s branded and high-converting keywords to maximize efficiency.

To reduce waste and improve performance, we eliminated all keywords with poor click-through or conversion rates. Additionally, we isolated underperforming products and moved them into their own dedicated campaigns. This allowed us to utilize more specific and relevant keywords, ensuring these products received tailored attention and the opportunity to improve their visibility and sales.

A robust monitoring system was also implemented to ensure high-performing keywords identified through phrase targeting were promoted to exact match campaigns for better control. Similarly, underperforming competitor terms were regularly reviewed and removed to maintain a high return on investment.

This proactive and data-driven approach ensured that Hell Energy’s Amazon Ads strategy consistently aligned with their goals, delivering measurable improvements in both efficiency and results.

Amazon Store Management

Our approach to Amazon Store Management for Hell Energy focused on creating a seamless, efficient, and scalable process to support their growth. We began by building a shared tracking document to keep the client informed of performance metrics and progress, ensuring transparency and alignment throughout the partnership. A thorough audit of the Amazon store was conducted to verify brand consistency and rectify any mistakes in product setup, enhancing the overall shopping experience.

To ensure consistent product availability, we reformed the stock order process, providing additional time for processing and avoiding stockouts across the year. We also supported the launch of various new product lines by creating compelling product pages, enrolling them in the Amazon Vine review program to generate authentic customer feedback, and implementing promotional strategies to drive initial sales momentum.

Finally, we analyzed and reviewed sales data to refine forecasting and develop a more accurate sales plan for 2025. These efforts ensured Hell Energy’s Amazon store operated efficiently while maintaining the brand’s reputation for quality and reliability.

The Results

Our strategic approach delivered exceptional results for Hell Energy’s Amazon presence. Return on ad spend (ROAS) increased by 43%, while sales saw a remarkable 530% year-over-year (YoY) growth. By optimizing campaigns and reducing inefficiencies, cost per acquisition (CPA) dropped by 28%, making advertising efforts significantly more cost-effective. Additionally, revenue experienced an impressive 494% YoY increase, demonstrating the transformative impact of our tailored strategy.

These results not only strengthened Hell Energy’s position on Amazon but also provided a scalable framework for sustained success in the e-commerce space.
